I couldn't help write about this movie. It is such a simple & well made movie. A complete entertainer... driving you to support the underdog and root for his success...a story based in rural India...the simplicity of the characters....great performances...I firmly believe this film deserved 1000 times more credit & appreciation than it received. Did we just miss a fine movie in the barrage of movies that we dish out every year??..hmmmm....
what I particularly liked is the protagonist's zeal to do what he wants to do in life...oh my god...he showed it to be so easy...his dad is losing money, unable to adequately support his family...a sister who invariably needs to be married (its rural India remember)...and the only son who cannot speak...yet...he follows his dreams! Amazing!! This is either very difficult to do...or..it is really easy to do if you have a simple life...simple life...yes thats what it is...it is we oourselves who make it very complicated...I have learnt my lessons.
Watch this amazing film..I am sure you will enjoy.
Cheers!

India blogs
Suddenly, there seems to be a huge interest worldwide in the economy of India, the youth of India, and talent of India. I am really surprised to see so many blogs out there.
I am browsing through many of them, and in case I find some that are informative or interesting, I will recommend those blogs here. Ok then...back to browsing the numerous blogs out there in the 'blogosphere' :-)
Meanwhile, England have lost 1 wicket at lunch. It will be interesting to see how the pitch turns out and whether the british boys show the mean and aggressive side of their game in this match. It will be some contest!

Sold Avanex Corp (AVNX)
I exited my position in Avanex Corporation (AVNX). I had purchased teh stock at a price of $1.95
After that, I saw the stock plummet down to as low as $0.69. But alas, I did one of the worse mistakes an intelligent investor will never do: did not buy additional shares. And that is because I did not have any buying power at that time. This is something I have learned and will always make sure I have more cards to play with in the next round of game.
However, I held on to my stock-pick; I had a small confidence in my stock picking ability, and I thought I did not have anything to lose much further. Well, the stock has been rising for the past 4 months, and yesterday, I sold it for $3.48; a hefty 90% gain.
I just wish I had invested more money. For those who don't know me, I am still a novice. I am still playing with amounts as little as $500.
But I tell you, one day, I am going to be a big player; real big.
I hope to portray my journey here, and I hope that the story my journey will help you in some way; and if not, it will atleast provide an entertainment value ;-)
Take care friends, and have a good weekend!
Bhetuya!!

Bought INTC
Hello!
I bought Intel, Inc. (INTC) last week. I think it is a great value at the current price, and I bought it for a long term investment.
I am also closely watching Dell, Inc. I believe that Semiconductor and the PC industry will pick up in the 2nd half of the year.
Howeve, I am also thinking of buying AMD; it is giving some serious competition to Intel.
I will give updates as I buy more stocks.
Please feel free to post any comments or feedbacks. As I mentioned, I am just starting with this blogging stuff; I plan to atleast over the weekends if not on a daily basis.
Thank you for visiting, and have a great weekend!

india pakistan odi
Today...India & Pakistan are going to play the first odi...Pakistan really played well in the 3rd test match. I really like the young pakistani team. They are full of confidence, ambition, talent and more importantly they are enjoying their games. It will be a tough task for India to beat them.
There was an interesting article by Inzamam on the third test victory. I think there is merit in his comments, and the Indian team takes some points from his views. He mentioned about how India made a mistake by not going with a Opening Pair. He says you should stick to your opening batsmen whether or not they score; because an opening pair is an opening pair, and one-down batsman will always be a one-down batsman. This is a very interesting comment. No doubt as to who this comment was meant for.
But again, India are a wounded team after their loss. I know they will bounce ack. I don't think the Pakistani team even knows what they are upto against. Sachin and Veeru can wreak havoc in a One day game. The oppposition team doesn't even realize what hit them before they watch in awe the destruction that these two batsmen create...
it will be an interesting contest, and there is no entertainment in this world than a India-Pakistan one day match.
We will see this in the next few hours. so fasten your seatbelts, and prepare for the ride!!

Sold BCO & IED
Both BCO and IED were my short term buys. They met my targets of 4% and I sold them. I feel good since I am still a novice with stocks. In retrospect, I feel I might have sold IED early; there might still be some run left to it.
Anyways...thinking of buying Intel now that since it seems to be a good value.
But I am liking Dell too. Anyways...I will post my thoughts before I buy any of these two.
The weekend is almost over and have to start preparing for tomorrow's work. I will post more as soon as I get a chance..till then..
I hope everyone has a great weekend,
Take care all.

stocks are down :-(
Just arrived home..what a hectic day at work. I have to check my stocks today.
I should have sold LU early this month since the market is way overbought; however, will hold on to it through these crazy and unpredictable times.
I see that my portfolio is down by about $150; but I will not repeat my past mistakes of selling off as soon as there is a loss. Lets hold on and see what happens. In any case, I have kept a stop loss on two of my most volatile stocks.
lets see..till then..have a good evening!
